Meet Mile 0

Meet Mile 0

We have been full-time rvers for 13 years.  We traveled with our loyal friend Sam.  After cancer took his life on Fathers Day in 2019 we decided we were done with pets.  That only lasted for a short while.  As we sought to adopt we were turned down for not being fit for adoption as we live in a RV and do not have a fenced yard and we would use a crate.  Pure breed dogs were in the thousands of dollars and a year's waiting list.  We set out on our trip south to the southern states to find a new travel partner.  We were interrupted by 2 hurricanes and other bad weather. We had all but given up when on Petfinder we found Best Friends Dog Rescue in Ciro Georgia

This is what we saw.  We wanted another black dog so we called and explained our way of life.  She says what a great way for a dog to live however you must hurry they are going fast.  They are 175. each and that includes worming, all shots, vet visits, neuter, and microchip.  We were on our way.

We started with the black pup and Dodi picked him up and was holding him and along came the blond one and sat in front of us staring up at us.  I picked him up and he cuddled into my arms. I looked at Dodi and she handed the black dog back and we said  you shall be Mile0

Mile 0 his first Florida sunset near Perry FL

Mile 0 turns out to be extremely smart and eager to please.  He was house trained the first night home.  He also knows to sit and will wait until you tell him to eat special foods.  We are blessed.

He is also very loving.

He is looking forward to his trip across the country to Montana

I have discovered many things so far. I like my coconut.  I have seen racoons. iguanas, and squrrels.  Nothing beats hawling a hugh plam branch out of the woods.

I worked at the tree lot to get socialized with other dogs, children, and people. There is always something to do.   These are long days and I usually need a nap or 2

Me and my mom and dad sell Christmas Trees for Hart-T-Tree Farms in Fort Lauderdale Florida.  I greet our customers and their dogs,  keep the sales area secure, help mom trim trees.  We are on a large lawn at the Sanctuary Church.  That is where I learned my name and how to play ball.

Some days my people have to leave me home alone.  They have to work or go shopping and I cant always go.  So I lay here in the windshield and wait for them to come home.  I am so happy when they open the door.

They take me to the beach to play ball and run,  They taught not to be afraid of the water and I keep hearing dont drink the water.  They aslo like to stop and watch the sunsets.  We go to the beach alot.

They took me to Key West to see where my name came from. Then we went to the beach again,  Then I learned to eat a burger in a resturant at the Waterfront Brewery.  They said I was really a good boy.  Tomorrow we are moving again and its just for me.  They are taking me on another adventure it called neutering.  I am not sure what that is hope its FUN.   Follow my adventures to Montana as we explore Tesas,  Arizona. and Utah and whatever we find along the way.
